What was the highlight of Hostel The Local

Lynn and the place did FAR exceed my expectations and I'd love to go back there...

It's very clean, quiet, stylish, and well-managed by Lynn and her son Alex. Lynn's warm and gracious hospitality really made me feel like staying at my family/friend's home. I like the design and furniture of the place and was pleasantly surprised to do some yoga stretching in the space between the beds in the dormitory room!

A fine and cheap place to stay in an interesting part of Busan

It has a great location in the historical downtown International Market area. It's efficiently run, super-clean, quiet, and very reasonably priced. A 5-star hostel!

There's a nice looking coffee shop adjoining the hastel called Saudade. It would be nice to start the day there, but for Koreans, coffee is not a morning drink.

Disappointing

Uncomfortable space to sleep in. Constant noise from neighbouring rooms. I left the hostel after a night due to feeling uncomfortable the whole night. The hostel contacts me after three days that I haven't returned the key!? Obviously it is a poorly organised hostel.

Everything was so perfect with my stay.

Everything was so perfect with my stay. The best part of this hostel for me is the bathroom that included the toilet! So convenient! And also the powder room as well, I really loved it! Thanks! I'd definitely come back for sure!!

The location is quite hard to find, and a little bit far for walking. But overall it's just fine

Very welcoming. I would recommend this place to a friend.

I liked getting the discount. Everything was great especially the location.

I think there should be an option if you can get the bottom bunk. It was kind of difficult for me to get the top bunk since I am short.

Very nice hostel in a great location.

Very nice hostel in a great location. The beds were comfortable and dorms fairly quiet. There is a great social space, however it would have been nice to have breakfast served there as it wasn't really used very much. The WiFi was good and the staff were friendly.

There were some strange rules in this hostel, mostly about not being able to shower from 11am-4pm, which I understood was for cleaning purposes but I thought it was a little odd. Also one night, there was insanely loud music coming from the basement these floors down. I asked at the front desk what it was and apparently it was the boss...who was blasting Queen at full volume from about 10 to midnight. It was turned down eventually but it was very odd as it made the walls and beds vibrate as it was so loud.

Everything was wonderful!

Everything was wonderful! Temperature nd ambiance were comfortable. Rooms and shower rooms were spacious. Large sinks for hair washing and laundry were provided and very convenient. Blankets and towels were also very convenient for winter time! I've been to South Korea for many times and all the times I stayed at guesthouses or hostels of some sort. Hostel The Local is one of the most amazing ones! However, there is a horrible hostel (one that lets you "travel light" ) close to Seomyeon station exit 7, which charges about thrice as much as other hostels, and have THE MOST UNFRIENDLY staff and THE MOST UNREASONABLE RULES!!! This particular hostel turns kitchen lights off during "lunch time" and would rather let you slice your finger off than let you turn the light on for a few minutes. It also conveniently "forget" to turn the heater on in the midst of winter. It will also monitor guests from the CCTVs like a Big Brother and tell the guests to leave the common area and leave hostel premises and go talk outside in the freezing stairway. When I got really sick and vomited in the trashcan BAG in a dormitory room for the whole day (when no one was in the room with me and I quickly disposed of my own vomit and changed a clean bag), the hostel owner told me to WASH CLEAN the vomitted BAG before throwing it away and that I am NOT allowed to throw up in the trashcan bag, but a bag that I hold on my own hand...(trust me, I know it doesn't make much sense.) Lastly, and the worst of it, was that when I asked a simple question that any traveler could ask, the owner showed an extremely irritated facial expression with a despised grunt, and ignored me without showing any interest in providing hospitality and support. This hostel, that lets you "travel light", was the worst decision I made in my numerous trips.

Nothing! It was amazing! If anything, I guess the wonderful breakfast that they used to serve Would've been appreciated. But really at this price, it's fair that they don't provide it.

Very nice cosy hostel that gave us just what we were looking for to experience Busan

We had a great time! The hostel was even better than expected and close to all the attractions we wanted to see. We even visited the cosy cafe downstairs that was excellent. I would most definitely come again. Thanks to our host for making us feel welcome. Movie nights in the lounge area was something extra to enjoy. ***

The beds are comfy and the interior of the hostel is clean...

The beds are comfy and the interior of the hostel is clean and pretty! The staffs are really friendly and also helpful. The location od the hostel is also convenient since it’s close to freat places to visit in Busan like Jagalchi Market and 국제시장!

We stayed out late and wanted to shower at night, but the hot water does not really works after 11 PM..? So we have to shower with cold water in the winter :( also the sound proofing was not really good as well, we can hear our neighbors if they talk loudly and vice versa.

Quite, comfortable and easily accessed by public transport

Great location and easily accessible by public transport with a little walking. Self-serve checkin also very easy and nice comfortable beds with A/C in the rooms. Lounge / common area also comfortable. Overall I’d recommend.

No real atmosphere as very quite but that might have just been the timing of my stay. And if I had to say anything on the negative the towels were ridiculously small (but that’s South Korea in general) and no breakfast included (but this is noted when booking so just an FYI not a complaint / negative).

청결하고 조용한, 가격에 알맞는 서비스!

청결하고 좋았어요 그런데 발이 너무 시려워서 꼭 양말을 신고 자야해요 ㅠㅠ 그래도 자유롭게 수건을 사용할 수 있었고 샴푸 린스 바디워시 빗 드라이기 고데기 잘 사용했어요 ! 그리고 커피나 다양한 차 종류가 배치되어 있어서 잘 이용했어요! 화장실이나 샤워부스도 정말 깨끗해요. 딱 가격에 알맞는 서비스였던것 같아요~

조식 없어요 없어!! ㅠㅜ 조식 있다고 해서 갔는데 없어졌다고 하네요 ㅜㅜ 요즘 게스트 하우스에 식빵 하나라도 안놓고 운영하는 곳 있나요.., ㅠㅠ 그리고 지하철 이용하는 뚜벅이들은 위치가 별로 안좋았어요 ㅜㅜ 울퉁불퉁한 바닥을 케리어 끌고 십여분정도 이동 했더니 너무 힘들었어요 ㅠㅠ 아 그리고.. 방 공간이 너무 좁아요 ㅠㅠ 그래서 캐리어를 놓을 곳이 마땅치가 않아요 ㅠㅠ 외국인 들이랑 같이 방썻는데 쏘리를 몇번을 했는지.., ㅠㅠ

많은 후기처럼 방도 샤워실도 깨끗하고 좋았습니다! 직원분도 엄청 친절하셨어요! 꽤 이것저것 여쭤봤는게 한결같이 친절하게 답변해주셨어요 감사합니다! 지하철역에서는 좀 거리가 있어 캐리어 끌고 가긴 힘들지만 국제시장 한복판에 있어서 먹거리나 쇼핑거리 도보로 다 가능해서 좋았습니다! 部屋も綺麗で、スタッフの方もとても親切で居心地良かったです！駅から少し距離ありますが、バス停も近くにいっぱいありますし、国際市場の真ん中らへんにあって買い物やグルメを楽しめます！

4인실 방 크기도 적당했고 위층 침대 계신분도 괜찮았는데, 같이 방 쓰시던 일본분 두 분이 밤 늦게 방에서 큰소리로 대화하고 짐정리하고 새벽 5시에 불 켜놓고 샤워실 가시는 바람에 잠자다 몇번이나 깼습니다. 매일 그러진 않겠지 싶어 그냥 지냈는데 하루 빼고 매일... ㅎㅎ복불복이지만 일행 아닌 분들이 있는 방에선 심야, 새벽시간대엔 조심히 움직여주셨으면ㅠ 部屋の中では静かに動いて欲しかったです！ルームメイトが深夜、早朝から電気付けたり、あまりにもうるさくて睡眠の質が悪かったです。ゲストハウスについて理解して欲しい‼︎

청결, 깨끗, 소음 없음, 관리 잘됨, 주인 친절함 제가 청결한 곳을 좋아하고 좀 따지는 편이라 여기 저기 알아보고 여기로 예약했는데요. 정말 찝찝한 곳 1곳도 없고 이불뽀송, 샤워실 깨끗, 화장실 깨끗하게 잘 유지되고 있습니다. 또 재방문할게요~~

일행이 3명이었음에도 밤늦은 귀가는 매우매우 무서웠음. 주변이 다 컴컴하니 일찍 귀가하길 바람~~~

침구가 편하고 라운지가 24시간 사용가능한점과 1인샤워룸이 프라이빗해서 좋았어요 샤워룸도 많습니다 수건을 마음대로 가져다쓰는것도 편했어요 방안에 개인사물함도 엄청크고 열쇠도 제공해주셔서 좋았어요

조식이 없었고 숙소가 건물들 사이에 둘러쌓여져있어서 좀 답답했습니다 물론 건물은 크고 넓습니다 이용가능한 티가 없었던것이 좀 아쉬웠습니다 라운지에서 쉬려고보니 마실것이 전혀없어서 그부분이 조금 아쉬웠습니다 아침엔 커퍼머쉰으로 내려주시긴 하지만 아쉬웠습니다 2층은 아침에 다소 소란스럽다는것이 아침잠이 많은 저에겐 충분한 숙면에 방해가 되었습니다

나만 쭉 알고싶은 숙소!

정말 모든 게 좋았어요. 사장님께서도 친절하셨구요. 화장실+샤워실이 각각 따로 방처럼? 분리되어있어 정말 좋았어요. 다음에 간다면 또 가려구요. 그래서 더 알려지지 않았으면하는 흑심도 있지만ㅋㅋㅋ 대박나셨으면 합니다.

위치는 번화가이나 저녁, 밤에는 조금 외진 곳일 수 있어요! 아래층이 카페라 환해서 괜춘합니다! 침대도 처음엔 좀 추웠는데 히터작동시키고 필요하시면 밖에 담요도 있으니 챙겨서 같이 덮으시면 될 듯해요!
